Program: A residential workshop to ripen, expand and utilize your fullest potential. The message with which we are bombarded daily resonates loudly with an energy of negativity. With a fragile economy and widespread global issues of instability, we too often find ourselves consumed by fear. We feel overwhelmed by responsiblites that seem impossible to fully accomplish. And we forget about that which shines from within us when we feel rested, relaxed and hopeful. Through drumming, dance and ritual, Sobonfu will take us on a journey to unlock our hidden potential so that we may remember our passion, discover a deep and renewing source of energy and hope for a future that is bright and promising not only for ourselves, but also for our families, our loved ones, and our surrounding communities. Sobonfu Somé is a respected lecturer, activist, and author. Her work has helped move African spiritual practices from the realm of anthropology to a place alongside the world’s great spiritual traditions. According to Alice Walker, Somé’s message “can help us put together so many things that our modern Western world has broken.” She is the founder of Wisdom Spring, Inc., an organization dedicated to the preservation and the sharing of indigenous wisdom. Somé often tours the United States and Europe to teach workshops. Her books include The Spirit of Intimacy; Welcoming Spirit Home; and Falling Out of Grace. Times: Friday 7:30PM to Sunday: Noon. Tuition includes: four meals starting Saturday breakfast.
